Join us for an excellent Craggy Range wine lunch at University House Professors’ Walk. Food and matching wines with each course. We hope to see you there!
The Craggy Range winery came to fruition as a result of scrupulous research in order to find the perfect region, and boundless enthusiasm from Mary and Terry Peabody to create a long standing family winery from scratch in 1993. Terry found the perfect vineyard sites in New Zealand, alongside acclaimed viticulturist Steve Smith. Uniquely, the Craggy Range winery is on trust for 1000 years, securing it as a family legacy.
The winery was recognised in 2014 by renowned US publication Wine Enthusiast as ‘New World Winery of the Year’ with many of the wines also receiving notable accolades and awards.
Most of the Craggy Range wines are made at our Gimblett Gravels Winery located in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing district in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.
Inside the winery, the equipment is of the highest quality to ensure a gentle process continuing our highly crafted approach to winemaking. The winemakers use a high-tech winery process control system to allow them to collect data to make informed and creative decisions.
