After a 5-year hiatus the Melbourne City Club’s Wine Challenge is returning.
The Lyceum Club is inviting teams to represent Melbourne’s Club’s and compete for the Wine Challenge Cup in June 2022.
WINE CHALLENGE BACKGROUND:
The evening is an opportunity to represent the Club in an entertaining and educational wine and food environment.
Teams of 6-8 taste 2 brackets of wines (4 whites and 4 reds, local and international). Points will be awarded for accurately identifying variety, region, vintage and producer. The winning team will receive prizes and the accolades of their colleagues and competitors.
In preparation for this event, University House is organising wine tasting and challenge sessions prior to our own University House Wine Challenge, to be held on Tuesday 5 April 2022.
The team winning the University House Wine Challenge will represent University House at the City Club’s Wine Challenge hosted by the Lyceum Club.
Prospective competitors are invited to participate in an online series of palate training and practice tasting sessions organised by our WSET trained Bar Supervisor, Belinda Wrathall.
Palate training and practice tasting details TBC.
