Club Choir
University House members who are passionate about singing, love belting out a tune, or even just enjoy getting together to appreciate the community of singing are invited to join the University Club Choir.
Under the baton of Doug Heywood OAM, long-term Club Member, and Choral Director of the Channel Nine Carols by Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, you will explore a repertoire of all genres.
Rehearsals are scheduled from 5.00pm – 6.30pm every first and third Thursdays of each month at Professors’ Walk.

Book Club
Our Book Club Conveners, Michelle O’Brien, Jennifer Henry and Christopher Bantick, have selected an interesting range of books for our University House member Book Clubbers in 2026.
The Biographies Group led by convener Jennifer Henry meets monthly on the last Wednesday of the month from 12.30pm to 1.30pm at University House Professors’ Walk.
The History, Politics and Philosophy Group convened by Michelle O’Brien meets on the second Wednesday of the month from 4.45pm (for a 5pm start) – 6.00pm at University House Professors’ Walk.
The Fiction Group convened by Christopher Bantick meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4.45pm (for a 5pm start) – 6.15pm at University House Professors’ Walk.

Australian Poetry Club has changed its focus and format, but will continue to support a range of poetry events in 2026.
Stay tuned for our 2026 program including guest poets and poetry workshops.
Whether you are an avid reader of Australian poetry or would like to try writing poetry in an inspiring and supportive space, we would love you to join us this year. Poetry events are advertised in our member newsletter, and around the club.

Quiz Night
Test your knowledge of all things weird and wonderful at monthly Quiz Night!
Quiz kicks off on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm, hosted by Nick and Karen. Arrive early to secure your drinks at the bar!
There is no need to register your team as a whole, you can join forces with your friends on the night!
